Real history

Designed by Kirtland Cutter and built in 1914, the Davenport was named for Louis Davenport. Louis Davenport sold it in 1945; after many owners and a 1972 owner bankruptcy it declined, faced demolition in the 1980s, and reopened on July 15, 2002 after restoration by Walt and Karen Worthy (Wikipedia).
