This page describes what happens when you use Spook Atlas as it works today.
What we collect
Spook Atlas has no accounts, no analytics or advertising scripts, and does not set cookies. The site's own code does not store anything in your browser.
The "Reader experiences" form on place pages is not yet accepting submissions. It is switched off and does not save or send anything you type.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives the technical details of each request (such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested) in order to serve the site, and may keep standard logs. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Third-party services your browser contacts
- Map tiles: the map on the home page loads tiles from Stadia Maps, using OpenMapTiles and OpenStreetMap data. When the page is opened outside spookatlas.com it uses OpenStreetMap's own tile servers instead.
- Map code: the map library (Leaflet) is loaded from unpkg.com.
- Fonts: every page loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com).
These services receive your IP address and normal request details when your browser fetches from them, under their own privacy policies.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you send, and we use it only to reply and to correct the site.
