Facts below are drawn from the linked sources.

Approximate area. The map shows only a rough area for this place, not an exact location.

Real history

The standing church was built in 1896 and completed in 1900; an earlier 1884 combination church and residence survives as the parsonage, now the Sims Historical Society museum (Wikipedia). InForum reports that the church still holds services every other Sunday. Pastor Lars Dordal and his wife Bertha lived there from 1916 to 1918; Bertha, a trained nurse, died of tuberculosis on May 8, 1917 (InForum, 2024). The town itself is now gone.

Ghost stories

These are reported legends, not verified events. The creepiness score (1–5) is Spook Atlas's own editorial rating, not a measurement.

The Gray Lady Our creepiness rating 💀💀💀💀💀
Tracy Briggs' 2024 InForum story collects reports of footsteps, organ music and windows, and an account by Olga Nelson of a gray shape in the 1930s. It also corrects retellings that misstate the family. Source: InForum, 2024.
