Real history

Silver City was founded in 1864, soon after silver was found on nearby War Eagle Mountain. At its height in the 1880s it had around 2,500 people and about 75 businesses, and it was the Owyhee County seat from 1867 to 1934. Idaho Territory's first daily newspaper and telegraph office were here (Wikipedia).

The mines played out around 1890 and the town slowly declined but was never fully abandoned; by the 1940s it had one permanent resident, Willie Hawes. About 70 buildings still stand, all privately owned. The Idaho Hotel was restored and reopened for tourists in 1972, and the townsite became the Silver City Historic District on the National Register in 1972 (Wikipedia; National Park Service NPGallery).

"Screaming Alice" and the Idaho Hotel Our creepiness rating 💀💀💀💀💀
The hotel's owner, Jerri Nelson, told KIVI-TV about cold spots, orbs, a large man in a tuxedo, children, and "Screaming Alice," a lady in white said to have fallen down the third-floor stairs. She also told of a guest scare that turned out to be a duffel bag. Source: KIVI Idaho News 6.
