Real history
The National Park Service says the Durlin Hotel was built in 1902 and rebuilt in 1924 after a 1921 fire, is the only historic two-story adobe building in Mohave County, was renamed the Oatman Hotel in the late 1960s, and was listed on the National Register in 1983 (National Park Service).
Sources differ: the 1983 National Register nomination documents only the building constructed in 1924, and Wikipedia also says John Durlin built it in 1924 (NRHP nomination; Wikipedia). The 1902 origin comes from the NPS web summary and local tradition.
