Real history
Jedediah Adair's farming success drew settlers, and by 1908 the place was called Adairville. It was renamed Houston, then Winder when its post office opened in 1912, and in 1917 became Widtsoe after John A. Widtsoe (Wikipedia).
Sources differ: the naming order and the year Widtsoe took its name vary by source; an audit reviewer cited 1915 from a place-names reference this site has not checked, against Wikipedia's 1917 (Wikipedia).
The town existed from about 1908 to 1936 (Wikipedia).
