The mines grew up near the older camp of Horr, which was renamed Electric in 1904 for its power plant; a book cited by Wikipedia says the town was earlier named Horr, then Electric, before incorporating as Aldridge in 1906. Over 500 men worked there in 1901, miners struck in 1904, and the town was incorporated in 1906 (Wikipedia).
