Real history
The trail began in the late 1860s as a dirt road, Lawler Ford Road (First Alert 4, 2026). It was paved in 2010 and is now the City of Wildwood's Rock Hollow Trail for walkers and cyclists (City of Wildwood).
Ghost stories
These are reported legends, not verified events. The creepiness score (1–5) is Spook Atlas's own editorial rating, not a measurement.
Wildwood Mayor Joe Garritano told First Alert 4 in 2026 that the stories include a serial killer in a shack near the end of the trail and a woman killed on the old train tracks, "Her ghost is still seen to this day," and that night visitors find police officers instead of ghosts.
