Real history
Forestville was settled in 1852 and had a post office from 1855 to 1902. After the railroad bypassed it in 1868, the Meighen family bought up the town, owning all of it by 1889; their store closed in 1910. Forestville State Park was authorized in 1949, and the Minnesota Historical Society runs Historic Forestville (Wikipedia).
