Real history
John W. Weatherford put up a stone building in 1898, after fires led Flagstaff to require brick or stone downtown, and added a three-story brick hotel that opened on New Year's Day 1900. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 (Wikipedia).
Sources differ: the same Wikipedia article also says the hotel was "established in 1897" (Wikipedia).
Ghost stories
These are reported legends, not verified events. The creepiness score (1–5) is Spook Atlas's own editorial rating, not a measurement.
The Arizona Daily Sun reported that Ghost Adventures filmed at the hotel in February 2023 and quoted general manager Chelsea Taylor-Gruters on the hotel's ghost stories. Source: Arizona Daily Sun, 2023.
